Gift of the Spirit

Lesson for the Week

Parents:  Pentecost is a time after Easter when we celebrate God sending the Holy Spirit. Jesus’ followers weren’t left alone after Jesus died for our sins, was resurrected, and taken up to heaven. They received the Holy Spirit. The power of the Holy Spirit gave them the ability to do amazing things and the fuel to tell others about Jesus.

Print the template included in the lesson link above. Using watercolors, markers, or colored pencils design flames on the dove. We learned today why a flame is used to symbolize the Holy Spirit. Look up Jesus’ baptism in Matthew 3:16 to see why the dove is used, too. Using a brad or fastener connect the wing and body together to enable the dove to move. Lastly, on the back of the project copy the prayer from the lesson or write your own.
